Maguk

THe upper gorge at Maguk

Maguk

Kakadu is full of amazing falls and swimming holes. This is one that is croc free but full of barra and other fish. No fishing of course.

Jim Jim falls

The plunge pool and ampitheatre at the base of Jim Jim is massive. The water gets chilled on its way down and is freezing at the bottom pool shaded by the high cliffs.

Under the spotlight

The rock wall was spotlit by the afternoon sun on the way to Jim Jim falls

Twin falls

Green

The rivers are so lush, they can be like a jungle

Twin falls

The top of twin falls

Breaking a sweat in Kakadu

Hunting business

The rock art is the oldest classroom, church and gallery on earth. Layers upon layer of work has been put up on the walls. The x-ray style aged at 2000yrs old telling of good hunting of barra and saratoga.

Escarpment country

We did a 12km hike up past Nourlangie which is actually Narwulunga and past the sandstone escarpment country. Smoke filled the distant horizon with daily burn offs of the spear grass. The heat walking was a killer

Sea Eagle

Its a feast for these guys over the wetland

Crocs

Jabiru

The only known animal that can take on a croc by piercing the back of its head with its beak

Yellow waters

Any wonder they call this place yellow waters. The morning cruise was awesome

Horizon pool

This is the view from the top of Gunlom falls, beats any resort pool on earth I reckon

Leliyn

Edith falls. Its a long swim to the falls and with goggles on its more unnervign than without as you keep thinking you see crocs swimming below you

Falls

Cooling off

What better place to cool off than under a waterfall

Leliyn

The upper Edith falls were fantastic

Rainbow serpent

Evidence of the rainbow serpent is everywhere

Solar system

Or maybe a pebble and water worn rock hole

Nitmiluk

Katherine Gorge cuts through the park, definately inspiring from water level

Rainbow serpent country

Plunge pools

Nothing quite like a private plunge pool

Magic water

We spent at least four hours a day here at the Lorella hot spring

Savannah mist

Dirt

The savannah way just keeps on going. We now have dust embedded in every nook and crany.

Pink is so in up here!

4WD car lot

White 4WD or white 4WD? Talk about cashed up fishermen. There is probably over 750 grands worth.
